A changing tide: Register Now and Coogee SLSC partner up for digital transformation
Register Now are excited to announce our new partnership with Coogee Surf Life Saving Club in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs in handling the online event registrations for the Coogee Island Challenge ocean swims plus the new RunSwim Coogee event.
With easing NSW restrictions, and a revised date of December 5th 2021, online registrations for Coogee Island Challenge Summer ocean swim are now open!
The Coogee Island Challenge (Summer edition) is the first ‘cut of the cake’ for swimmers looking to take on this epic island journey swim, with its Autumn equivalent swim planned to be held in April 2022.

Coogee SLSC decided to make the most of the current situation (aka the global pandemic) and have been working hard, reviewing all of the elements of their events where improvements could be made. When it came to managing registrations and data, they recognised the need for an efficient, streamlined platform to access data and safely process payments. The club put together a detailed tender process and Register Now is proud to be the successful candidate.
One of the key features that the club was excited about was the Register Now API integration with Multisport Australia (official timing partner) which will allow Coogee SLSC to keep online entries open until the start of the event. Multisport pulls the data directly from the Register Now database for precise timing and results - no paper entry forms, no USB drives, no outdated spreadsheets - just clean, accurate data.

Club History
Coogee Surf Life Saving Club was founded in 1907 by a group of concerned locals who thought that the surf bathers needed protection from the dangers and the vagaries of the surf.
Coogee has always been at the forefront of Surf Life Saving. The first mass rescue, night surf carnival, major surf carnivals and the development of the resuscitation technique all happened at Coogee. This has created a great sense of camaraderie and loyalty to the Club.
Today, Coogee SLSC is one Australia largest Surf Clubs in the country with a strong Nipper team of around 1,000 Nippers and over 600 Surf Lifesavers all volunteering to Patrol Coogee Beach.
Coogee SLSC has run the Coogee Island Challenge, one of Australia’s most iconic Ocean Swims, for the last 20 years
The CIC is the largest fund-raising event for Coogee SLSC, ensuring we have the resources to support our Lifesaving Patrol teams with the most up to date and effective rescue equipment available.

The Coogee Island Challenge swims are iconic races on the open water swim calendar, and we believe RunSwim Coogee will be one of the most scenic athletic events in Sydney!
